It is now possible to make reservations to see this great event on excellence in European craftsmanship. The exhibition “Homo Faber: Crafting a more human future” is organised by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship in collaboration with the Cologni Foundation for the Métiers d'Art, the Giorgio Cini Foundation, the Triennale di Milano Design Museum, and Fondation Bettencourt Schueller. Its specific aim is to promote and diffuse the work of master craftspeople whose enthusiasm, competence and dedication is the stuff of a European renaissance of the applied arts.

This internationally relevant event is conceived to enhance the appreciation of contemporary and traditional métiers d'art, and offers a focus on their connection to the world of design. Similar to a discovery trip, visitors will admire in person the great skill of artisans at work during daily demonstrations, and enter the little-known realm of specialised ateliers with help of virtual reality and other sophisticated immersive technology.

A unique opportunity to listen to the opinions and experience of craftspeople is given by a cycle of conferences and encounters on the subjects of creativity and artisanship. "Homo Faber" is a celebration of creative flair and manual talent. Jewellery, custom-made bicycles, rare métiers and very precious types of craft are just several of the exhibition's features.

This is the very first time the Giorgio Cini Foundation is hosting a large-scale exposition of over 4,000 square metres, not laid out along a traditional route, but constructed as an experiential voyage. The public can speak to the artisans, virtually enter a number of master craft ateliers, observe restorers at work and become utterly captivated by the universe of high craftsmanship.

The displays at "Homo Faber" were entrusted to curators of renown, including Michele De Lucchi, Silvana Annicchiarico, India Mahdavi, Judith Clark, Jean Blanchaert and Stefano Micelli. Coordinated by Alberto Cavalli, the director of the Cologni Foundation, they are the guarantors of the exhibition's extraordinary creativity and energy.
