The Quadreria of Milan Triennale will host the exhibition “METAFORE. Roberto Capucci: Meraviglie della Forma ”, curated by Gian Luca Bauzano. The exhibition, after Mirabilia, Vitrea and Fittile, is the fourth in the cycle “Mestieri d'Arte & Design. Crafts Culture”, born from the collaboration between Triennale Milano and Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte. The exhibition aims to narrate and stage the work of Roberto Capucci, one of the great protagonists of Italian fashion, a celebrated couturier and artisan who will certainly fascinate and enchant the public. The exhibition allows to get to know a different side of Capucci, researcher of shapes and materials: bamboo, plastic polymers, natural stones ... surprising creations but no less iconic, which tell a personal and original journey between design, research, art and craft.
A unique creative story: in over seventy years of uninterrupted activity, the entire career of the Master is the emblem of an absolutely exceptional savoir-faire. Even today his creativity is expressed very vivid and full of visionary inspirations especially in the drawings of great charm and beauty ("the alpha and omega of each of my creations", writes the Master), which fully testifies to Capucci's passion for shapes, colors, materials, for art and nature, his sources of continuous inspiration. In dialogue with the Maestro's precious clothes, the collection of ceramic sculptures created by the Rometti Manufacture, active since 1927 in Umbertide, in the province of Perugia, which has always collaborated with great names in international design, including Ambrogio Pozzi, Lilian Lijn, Chantal Thomass, Kenzo Takada, Ugo La Pietra, Christian Tortu, just some of the names they have designed for Rometti in recent years. A hotbed for experimentation still available to young artists today, thanks to the commitment of the owner Massimo Monini and the artistic director Jean-Christophe Clair. Metaphors in fabric and ceramic that come together in a unique and suggestive dance, where colors, shapes, lines and volumes weave an absolutely new and special dialogue.
