‘Homo Faber: The Journey of Life’ opens to the public: the long-awaited international event - from 1 to 30 September at the Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice - explores the essential relationship between human beings and craftsmanship. From birth to the moment of our final farewell, craftsmanship is woven into the fabric of our existence, contributing to the creation of precious moments. A project by Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, in partnership with Fondazione Cologni and Fondazione Giorgio Cini.
Diversity, inclusiveness and openness: craftsmanship is a powerful medium for conveying ideas and building a better, more humane future. ‘Homo Faber 2024’ is an invitation to get to know the stories behind the creative journey of each craftsman and his works. It is the discovery of the rising stars who bring a new perspective to their crafts. It is the tale of artisans who have changed jobs to follow their passions. It is the celebration of the masters of art with an established career behind them. Discover the more than 500 master craftsmen selected for this edition: for them, craftsmanship is ‘happiness of doing’.
