April 30th through October 15th, 2014
Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze
Horne Museum, Florence

Two premises for the Florentine exhibition dedicated to the painters and sculptorswho are also goldsmiths, and the foreigner goldsmiths who have decided to work in Tuscany. The Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze and the Horne Museum in fact put on display the works of “Artist Jewelry. Tradition in modernity”, an exhibition curated by Ornella Casazza and Laura Felici, promoted and organized by OmA, Osservatorio dei Mestieri d'Arte in Florence, and open from April 30th through October 15th.
The jewels are showcased alongside paintings and sculptures that are already part of the collections of the two venues, and are considered themselves as wearable sculptures or as an expression of a pictorial representation.
The combinations, unusual and sometimes provocative, suggest new and different interpretations on both the experiences of contemporary jewelery, and the ancient works.
