A guide conceived to tell the story of Rome’s beauty and its disarming grandeur. A greatness born of precious details, like the tiny tesserae of its mosaics, the veining of its marbles and the drapery of its sculptures. “Roma su misura. Craft Shopping Guide” reveals 50 master artisans who continue to perpetuate this beauty today, captured through the lens of photographer Dario Garofalo. An elegant 240-page bilingual volume (Italian/English), published by Gruppo Editoriale, produced in collaboration with Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte and with the support of Maison Cartier.
The “Tailor-Made” series is a journey celebrating art and craftsmanship and, after Milan, Florence, Venice and Naples, it could not fail to pass through the timeless marvel of the Eternal City. “Roma su misura” leads us to discover places where knowledge is handed down, renewed and reinvented: workshops where bespoke garments and footwear, jewellery, mosaics, lampshades, frames and works of art come to life.
The official presentation of the guide took place on Friday 19 December 2025 at the Auditorium of the Ara Pacis Museum. Speakers included Alessandro Onorato, Councillor for Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of the City of Rome; master tailor Gaetano Aloisio; master milliner Patrizia Fabri; master goldsmith Diego Percossi Papi; Alessandra de Nitto, Editorial and Events Director of Fondazione Cologni; and Matteo Parigi Bini, publisher of Gruppo Editoriale. A meaningful occasion in a city that has been a hub of elegance and style for centuries. The event was moderated by Franz Botré, renowned publisher and journalist, and a leading expert in the applied arts and fine craftsmanship.
