The artistic lithography workshop led by master printer Giancarlo Busato at Museo Poldi Pezzoli in Milan was met with great enthusiasm and participation. The event formed part of the “A regola d’arte” programme supported by Fondazione Cologni. On Saturday 22 November 2025, the historic printmaking studio from Vicenza inaugurated the first appointment in a series of workshops scheduled throughout 2026: occasions that allow participants not only to observe the gestures and techniques of excellence in craftsmanship at close hand, but also to experience them first-hand.
Giancarlo Busato and his partner Federica demonstrated drypoint, a direct engraving technique in which the matrix in plexiglass or metal is incised using a sharp needle.
The next appointment, in February 2026, will feature Leonardo Frigo with his workshop dedicated to the construction of globes. Bookings for individual workshops open on the first day of the month in which the workshop takes place. Booking is mandatory (rsvp@museopoldipezzoli.it).
