On 7 April 2025, on the occasion of National Made in Italy Day, an event dedicated to the world of Italian fashion and jewellery was held. Organised by the Italian Embassy in Madrid, the Italian Foreign Trade Agency and the Italian Association of Coral and Cameo Entrepreneurs (Assocoral), the event saw the collaboration of Madridjoya and brought together key figures in design, fashion and jewellery. Thanks to the support of the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte, there was also the presence of Alessandro Simonelli, a young artisan from “Una Scuola, un Lavoro. Percorsi di Eccellenza”.

“Legami Preziosi” gave space, among others, to the young artist-craftsman Alessandro Simonelli: during the entire event, Alessandro showed the magic of coral and cameo craftsmanship with live sessions, telling more than 100 guests about every step of this precious craft; the following day, he gave a special lesson at the Escuela de Arte 3 in Madrid, offering students the opportunity to experience the technique of engraving on shells at first hand.

The Italian Embassy in Madrid was a unique opportunity to get in touch with Italian savoir-faire, explore the richness of the art of coral and cameos, and foster new business opportunities between Spain and Italy, thanks to the participation of six renowned companies in the sector: Antonino De Simone, Aucella, De Simone Fratelli, Eva, Grazia Mazza and Mattia Mazza. This opportunity for young Simonelli arose thanks to the project “Una Scuola, un Lavoro. Percorsi di Eccellenza” and the Francesco Degni Institute, where Alessandro graduated, and which today already sees him involved in an apprenticeship at Antonino De Simone, an Assocoral member company.
