The university course at the Faculty of Design at the Politecnico di Milano, held by Alberto Cavalli, General Director of the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, has been renewed for the academic year 2024/25. Every Thursday, for the duration of the second semester, lectures organised in numerous significant locations in the city of Milan will stimulate the attention and curiosity of enrolled students, to whom a model/paradigm of Italian beauty will be presented, explained and commented on.

The course, which has been entrusted to the Fondazione Cologni for over ten years, presents beauty as a competitive advantage that contributes to making a creation attractive, desirable and successful. Italian beauty, in particular, is an essential component of creativity linked to the world of luxury and excellence, which in the country has a long and prestigious history: but this beauty, far from being just an aesthetic and superficial component, is built and nourished by work, commitment, tradition and territory, art and craft. It becomes a further expression of a talent that characterises the excellence of Italian production, and that cannot do without the art professions (traditional or new generation) that are linked to the territory, and that draw strength and identity from art, history and the very beauty of the territories, in an ideal virtuous circle.

In this 2025 the students will have the opportunity to visit prestigious spaces such as the Biblioteca Ambrosiana, the Fondazione Luigi Rovati, the ADI Design Museum, the Museo della Scienza e della Tecnica, the Museo Bagatti Valsecchi... The lectures will be accompanied by presentations from experts in the applied arts, communication and design.
