Pipa Castello started out in 1947, the year when founder Carlo Scotti created a little workshop with the aim of producing pipes of the highest quality and that would be technically and aesthetically at the top.

The business has been passed on to Franco Coppo today, and he continues the Pipa tradition of working.

Castello’s pipes are rare pieces, completely hand-made, one by one, by skilled craftsmen. The entire working process takes place in Italy, from the choice of wood to storage at the workshop, to the ten years of aging, to the first cut of the raw material, down to finishing and varnishing.

This must be the secret: total concentration and dedication to one’s work and love for the definition of beauty.

Every year less than 5,000 exclusive pipes are produced, each one different in small details and the special attention dedicated to it. Certain special working processes can last for months, and in the case of pipes with very difficult sculptural forms, even years, as in the case of the “Veiled Pipe”. In the workshop, the craftsmen are bent over their pieces, concentrating their eyes and hands on their works.

This must be the secret: total concentration and dedication to one’s work and love for the definition of beauty.
