The Fondazione Cologni's Mini Master's course has been renewed for the eighth consecutive year, with the collaboration of prestigious universities and art schools in Milan. For six weeks, between November and December 2024, the students who won the call for entries of ‘Una Scuola, un Lavoro. Percorsi di Eccellenza' (A School, a Job. Training to Excellence) enthusiastically attended the preparatory lessons for their entry into the world of work as future artisans.

The first week was dedicated to the History of Applied and Decorative Arts through lectures and visits to the main museums in Milan, thanks to the teachers of Scuola Corsi Arte. Fundamental for a craftsman is the correct communication of himself and his work; thus, guided by IULM lecturers, they learned the basics of effective communication. With the third module, dedicated to micro-business management and marketing, the students, accompanied by SDA Bocconi professors, studied marketing-mix, budgets and micro-business management.

In the last week of November, the students tackled personal branding and the creation of their own portfolio at the Politecnico di Milano. The cycle of meetings closed with lessons on the importance of human capital, delivered by INAZ, and the fundamentals of setting up your own business with FORMAPER. Finally, thanks to the expertise of lawyer Stefano Loconte, they were able to take a look at the legislation related to intellectual property. The last few days were devoted to a course on occupational health and safety, delivered by professionals from IndirizzoAmbiente.

To complete the theoretical cycle, two days were dedicated to the discovery of Milan's artisan excellence, including Open Care - Servizi per l'Arte; Triennale Milano; the Fumagalli&Dossi plaster gallery; Anita Cerrato's Kinstu Handmade; Lucia Pascale; La Nuova Taglieria Artigiana; Andrea Restelli; the Ansaldo Laboratories - Teatro alla Scala, and the Engraving Centre on the Naviglio Grande.
Also very important in this edition was the support of Starhotels, which generously hosted the young trainees during their entire stay in Milan at Starhotels Business Palace and Starhotels Tourist: a precious contribution, desired by Elisabetta Fabri, President and CEO of Starhotels, to actively support the transmission of knowledge to the new generations, and part of the ‘La Grande Bellezza by Starhotels’ patronage project.
