To celebrate such an important birthday, Franco and Adele Cologni, illustrious Milanese who have always been passionately committed to the protection of fine Italian craftsmanship and Milanese excellence in particular, are pleased and proud to offer their guests and the city of Milan a small but precious pearl of art and craft: a performance by the Compagnia Marionettistica Carlo Colla & Figli. A historical reality among the most important in the world in figure theatre, a true feather in the cap of the city of Milan. “Lo Spettacolo della Bellezza” tells, through the refined microcosm of its puppets, the marvellous painted scenes and fantastic props, the texts and music, thanks to the skill of its artists in stage play, the wonderful story of an incomparable master of art, Benvenuto Cellini. Above all, the story tells the creation of his famous Saliera, a table monument and undisputed masterpiece of goldsmithing and applied art, an icon of Italian know-how and genius, which also inspired the logo of the Fondazione Cologni.

The puppet script of the show is freely adapted, by Franco Citterio, from the text by Claudio Castellacci and Patrizia Sanvitale, “Saliere, pepiere, pifferi e mecenati. La storia vera della Gran Saliera di Benvenuto Cellini”, in Lo Spettacolo della Bellezza, Marsilio Editori, Venice, 2020, edited by Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte.

We look forward to seeing you on 8 December (replicas at 16.00 and 20.00)!
