The latest issue of the biannual magazine “Mestieri d'Arte & Design. Crafts Culture,” distributed to Elle Decor Italia and Marie Claire Maison subscribers, is dedicated to the theme of rarity: a rare craft is a manifesto in favor of a new Humanism to be promoted and supported. On the dedicated website mestieridarte.it you can discover a selection of rare talents: extraordinary artisans who remind us that it is possible to turn a passion into a profession.

«I moved throughout the entire year 2023, across the Country, Region by Region, with the goal of discovering and then mapping those who live by craftsmanship of excellence and recount rare and probably disappearing craft knowledge. Thanks to the research, I recognised a beautiful Italy, which preserves, even in its provinces, great excellence», explains Nurye Donatoni, curator and passionate explorer of territories and crafts.
The survey came about at the behest of Fondazione Cologni, which wanted to embark on such a journey along the lines of the cyclopean work done, from 2014 to the present, in the United Kingdom at the behest of Heritage Crafts' president, the former Prince of Wales and current king, to build a Red List of Endangered Crafts, with the goal of creating a new comprehensive list of historic and traditional crafts to be safeguarded.
On mestieridarte.it a first selection of the rarest Italian art crafts is thus available: the masters interviewed speak the poetic language of beauty, they feel the need to create, to transmit the sense of art and creativity.
