The Loewe Foundation has opened the call for the fifth edition of the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize, an international award that celebrates excellence in craftsmanship.
The Loewe Foundation is looking for uniquely talented artisans whose artistic vision, technical ability and determination to innovate will set new standards for the future of craftsmanship. The works must blend art and technical expertise; moreover, it is required that they are original pieces, one of a kind, made recently (in the last five years) by hand, in part or totally. Works may not have previously won any awards and must stand out for being innovative and updating tradition in one of the applied arts sectors, such as ceramics, bookbinding, enamel, jewelry, lacquer, metal, furniture, leather, textiles, glass, paper, wood. The winning works will be presented in an exhibition, and in the catalogue that will accompany it, in the spring of 2022, in Seoul.
Applications will be accepted until October 25, 2021.
