This September, the second edition of “Homo Faber in Città” invites visitors to get off the beaten path and discover the addresses where Venice's artisans create objects of exquisite beauty. A rare opportunity to observe the masters and young talents of Venice revealing the secrets of fine craftsmanship, materials and tools. An action of the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte, institutional partner of Homo Faber 2024.
With “Homo Faber in Città”, 70 Venetian ateliers will open their doors to welcome visitors throughout the duration of Homo Faber by showing their production to the public. The master artisans who join the initiative have become part of the Homo Faber Guide, a leading network for the promotion of world craftsmanship.
Homo Faber in Città – which enjoys the valuable support of Cartier – is developed in partnership with Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte, which has entrusted the coordination of this action to Susanna Pozzoli, photographer and author, an expert eye in capturing artisan gestures at work and already curator of the “Venetian Way” exhibition during the first edition of Homo Faber. It was precisely the sensitivity of this cosmopolitan photographer, who lives and works in Paris, that allowed for an unprecedented look at the artisanal knowledge between Venice, Murano and Burano, capturing the essence of the 'happiness of making', the privileged condition of our master artisans.
The itineraries to create and customise are many and varied. Stores' opening days and times are available at www.homofaber.com and on the dedicated APP. More info: https://www.homofaber.com/it/in-citta
