On Monday 6 July 2020, the ceremony for the award of the honour of the ‘Order of Merit of the Italian Republic’ was held in the garden of the Prefecture of Milan. On this occasion the diploma of the honour of Cavaliere di Gran Croce, or Knight Grand Cross, signed by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, was presented to Franco Cologni, president of the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte: a prestigious title of high symbolic value awarded in recognition of a truly exceptional entrepreneurial and philanthropic career.

The presentation of the diplomas took place in the presence of the president of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, the deputy mayor of Milan, Anna Scavuzzo, the deputy mayor of the Metropolitan City, Arianna Censi, and the prefect of Milan, Renato Saccone. The prefect presented the awards to citizens who have given lustre to the country through major contributions in the fields of culture, art and the economy, as well as for public service and social, philanthropic and humanitarian activities or for long and outstanding service in civilian and military careers.
