Inaugurated on Sunday, May 19, at the Basilica of San Calimero in Milan, the eleventh edition of the Festival dell'Ascensione, a tribute to the European sacred repertoire this year particularly focused on the Middle Ages to the early Renaissance, under the artistic direction of Giuditta Comerci. The 2024 edition is promoted by NOEMA Associazione per lo Studio e la Promozione della Cultura Musicale in collaboration with Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte.

The 11th edition of Festival dell’Ascensione, at the Basilica of St. Calimero, is a grand homage to the sounds, forms, instruments and writings of the long European Middle Ages, reaching to the end of the 15th century and Josquin seamlessly: so that one can savor their roots and changes, sense of tradition and innovations, grasping their common thread rather than separations, the common nodes of identities rather than classifications of method. The last two dates of the Festival are set on June 2 and June 9. Each concert will be preceded by a 15-minute introduction starting at 8:10 p.m. The low cost of the ticket is guaranteed by the patronage of Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte, whose support allows the Noema Association to meet most of the expenses of organising its activities. Fondazione Cologni has been supporting NOEMA's intentions and activities since its inception, in a happy meeting of goals of popularising and informing about early music and the arts and crafts surrounding it, which have helped its development and popularisation over time and still guarantee its study, performance, and listening.
