Out of the shortlist of the 10 finalists competing for the 2021-2022 edition of the "La Grande Bellezza" Award, dedicated to the beauty of nature, the jury led by Elisabetta Fabri, President and CEO of Starhotels as well as creator of this special initiative, identified the work Primitivo, created by the Turinese cabinetmaker Andrea Bouquet, as the winning project. On the evening of Tuesday 11th October, at the Rosa Grand - Starhotels Collezione in Milan, the 10 finalist works were presented, on display until 9 January 2023. "The works proposed by our master artisans were all of an excellent standard, testifying to the skill, creativity and talent of Italian savoir-faire”, commented Elisabetta Fabri. “It was therefore not easy for me to indicate the winner. I finally chose with conviction the beautiful Primitivo cabinet by Andrea Bouquet to reward the great dexterity of this artisan, fully in line with the tradition of Piedmontese and Italian cabinet-making, combined with contemporary taste. It seemed to me the most accomplished expression of the very spirit of the Award: to be inspired by Italy's extraordinary historical heritage, but with an eye to the future". The winne received a cash prize of €10,000. The biennial Award is part of the "La Grande Bellezza" project, promoted by Starhotels in collaboration with Fondazione Cologni, OMA and Gruppo Editoriale: a contemporary patronage project for the protection and dissemination of Italy's extraordinary heritage of talent and savoir-faire.
