Hotel Westin of rue de Castiglione
On November 24th 2014 the "Sommet du Luxe et de la Création" organised by the Centre du Luxe et de la Création of Paris and dedicated to the theme of "Conqueror Luxury: power and influence of a growing economy” took place at the Westin Hotel in Rue de Castiglione.
Throughout the day, four round table took place, devoted respectively to the power of evocation of luxury, the growth perspectives for the sector, the "soft power" of luxury and customer centrality. During the lunch two prizes were given: the Prix Lalique, awarded by the famous Maison of crystalware to the chef Hervé Rodriguez, and the first edition of the Cologni Foundation Award-Centre du Luxe, dedicated to the "Entreprise des Métiers d'Art".
This prize was awarded to Giuseppe Santoni, CEO of Santoni who received the trophy from the hands of the Cav. Lav. Mario Boselli, President of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana.
In the evening, always at the Westin Hotel, the award ceremony of the thirteenth edition of "Les Talents du Luxe et de la Création" took place: an award that celebrates the talent, the know-how and the vision of the leading players in the world of luxury and métiers d'art.
The weavers of Macerata Patrizia Ginesi and Maria Giovanna Varagona for the "Audacity"; Andrea and Giuseppe Santoni for the category "Originality"; the great cabinetmaker Pierluigi Ghianda for "Seduction"; and Eugenio Monti Colla, head of historic marionette company Carlo Colla & Sons, as Talent d'Or.
During the awards ceremony, presented by the Director of the Cologni Foundation Alberto Cavalli with the journalist Karine Vergniol, Pierluigi Ghianda was awarded for the category "Seduction": the famous cabinetmaker, author of some of the most famous pieces of design of the last few decades, figure of absolute importance for his talent, his ability to collaborate with the biggest designer and his extraordinary humanity, was awarded together with his daughter Beatrice from the hands of Patricia Cadolle, French master.
