From September 21st to Gennuary 19th

On the 21st of September the exhibition “Pearls” at the Victoria & Albert Museum in collaboration with the Qatar Museums Authority will be inaugurated.
The show explores the history of pearls, icon of royalty and glamour, from the early Roman Empire to present day through the creations of international maisons such as Cartier, Bulgari, Chaumet, René Lalique, Tiffany and contemporary artist jewelers from the QMA Collection.
On display rare specimens as the Mary Queen of Scots' necklace and tiaras worn by European royalty, with delicate Art Nouveau and Deco pieces and a pair of pearl drop earrings owned by Elizabeth Taylor. Portraits and photographs provide the backdrop to document the fashion for wearing pearls and their symbolism in East and West.
