Grazietta Butazzi has been one of the most important historians of costume and fashion in the Italian post-war period. Her method contributed to train a generation of researchers and to create the bases for an “Italian school” of fashion scholars. A few months after she passed away, the Antonio Ratti Foundation organises a study day in her honour.
On June 20th, the meeting “Fashion Art History Society. Tribute to Grazietta Butazzi” will thus take place, a conference involving, as moderators and speakers, the most important scholars of Italian fashion history and museology.
The methodological approach of Grazietta Butazzi will be presented, thanks to the presence of those who worked with her in research, exhibitions curatorships and publications.
