From November 2014 through March 2015
MAK – Museum of Applied Art of Vienna

This exhibition at the MAK – Museum of Applied Art of Vienna, presented by Le Stanze del Vetro and Fondazione Giorgio Cini, offers the very first insight into the works of the de Santillana siblings: Laura de Santillana and Alessandro Diaz de Santillana, the grandchildren of Paolo Venini, founder of the Venini glass company, which was established in 1921 on the island of Murano. They both worked as designers in the family business. On display the wall objects of Alessandro and the voluminous slabs of Laura, which have a powerful physicality.
A series of videos in the exhibition shows visitors how the glassworks are made in the glass furnace.
