The joint action of a selection of the most important Italian schools of arts and cratfs launched by ALMA, The International School of Italian Cuisine and supported by Fondazione Cologni, continues with tenacity and good results to date.
The appeal of this network of schools to the national and regional institutions to reopen soon, based on the evidence of the specific nature of the teaching, necessarily based on practical lessons and workshops, is giving excellent results, and a number of Schools have already resumed their activity in Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli- Venezia Giulia, Campania and Emilia Romagna. Going back to teaching as soon as possible, fully respecting the safety regulations: this is the subject of the request made by the network both jointly and individually in the local areas, dialoguing with the regional institutions. This has led to the effective acknowledgement, for the moment partial but important, of the Appeal and its motivations, vital for the very survival of these schools, which are repositories of an expertise unique in the world. More than twenty prestigious schools have joint forces with ALMA: from the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala to the Accademia Nazionale dei Sartori, from the Politecnico Calzaturiero to the Scuola di Restauro di Palazzo Spinelli, from the Scuola dei Mosaicisti of Friuli to the MAC of Biella, from the Associazione Villa Fabris to the Scuola del Cuoio and to the Arsutoria School, to mention just a few of them. The re-opening of many of these schools, which are at the basis of the best Italian production, is a sign of hope and recovery after the crisis, and we hope that in the very short term all the Regions will agree in accepting this fundamental Appeal in support of this great expertise and its being handed down to the future generations.
