The year 2020 has brought an important change in the now historic magazine Mestieri d’Arte e Design, after a total of 20 issues published in successful partnership with the Swan Group, today Symbol.

In fact issue no. 21 (October 2020) has marked the beginning of a new and fruitful collaboration with Elle Decor Italia, a point of reference for the world of design, craft, interior decoration, architecture and the art of living, which will offer the magazine as a supplement to its subscribers.

Renewed in part in its name as well, which has become Mestieri d’Arte & Design. Crafts Culture, the magazine that has always been devoted to excellence in the crafts, high-quality manufacturing and conscious design, is also distributed through important and prestigious institutions and museums of applied arts.

Its artistic direction is now in the hands of RobilantAssociati, while the fundamental relationship with Ugo La Pietra continues: architect, experimenter and great champion of the applied arts, he provides the publication with attentive and invaluable advice, as well as being the author of important articles.;

The contributors, recognized historians of art and the applied arts who, with the prestige of their names and the value of their experience in the world of design and the crafts, offer expert points of view. For the first issue, the significant choice of a title that is pregnant in meaning, especially in the current scenario: Rinascimento.

The articles are written by some highly prestigious names: from Stefano Micelli to Chiara Maggioni and Alba Cappellieri, from Elisabetta Nardinocchi to Jean Blanchaert and Anty Pansera, from Maria Gioia Tavoni to Dario Scodeller... The areas of excellence presented range from jewellery (Tommaso Pestelli) to the art book (the Tallone family) and lustreware (MaurizioTittarelli Rubboli); from the semiprecious mosaic work known as commesso fiorentino (the Traversari workshop) to cabinet-making (Fratelli Boffi) and glassware (Barovier & Toso, Lucio Bubacco); from high fashion (Dolce&Gabbana) to food-and-wine connoisseurship (Massimo Spigaroli); and much more.

Two monographic issues are planned, at six-monthly intervals, that will tell authentic stories of mastery and passion, opening the doors of workshops, manufactories and other enterprises in which the ritual of beauty and originality is celebrated on a daily basis.

The magazine is also distributed by the network of the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte and the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, which comprises institutions, schools and international foundations.
