Starhotels, one of the leading groups in the Italian hospitality industry, is participating in Homo Faber In Città with a small but valuable exhibition in the beautiful setting of the Hotel Splendid Venice - Starhotels Collezione. On display are works by Venetian craftsmen inspired by the theme of the "marvellous relations" between Venice and the Empire of the Rising Sun. The initiative is part of the patronage project "La Grande Bellezza", promoted by Starhotels in favour of high Italian craftsmanship, in collaboration with Fondazione Cologni, Associazione OMA and Gruppo Editoriale.

The splendid kimono and precious silk lampas fabric made by Rubelli for Armani; the Madama Butterfly stage dresses by Atelier Nicolao; the original double-sided masks from Nō theatre and the Commedia dell'Arte made by Bottega dei Mascareri; the precious Venetian-themed furnishing objects and totemic lamps made by the skilful hands of the Lunardelli and Salviati artisans are just some of the works on display in the hotel's elegant rooms. Murano's centuries-old glassmaking tradition is well represented by the works of Micheluzzi, Carlo Moretti, NasonMoretti and Salviati, or Attombri's vases inspired by Japanese natural elements, as well as Barbini's mirrors decorated with japoniserie; finally, the fascinating and poetic art of Stefania Giannici's Japanese paper boxes and origami, together with the evocative iconography of Fallani's silkscreen prints. A small treasure chest in the heart of Venice, for a stop in the most refined beauty.
