On the occasion of the exhibition "Oro Bianco. Three Centuries of Ginori Porcelain" (25 October 2023 - 19 February 2024), Fondazione Cologni is organising some workshops for adults dedicated to ceramic and porcelain at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum in Milan. On Saturday 25 November 2023, Elisabetta Bovina and Carlo Pastore of Elica Studio in Bologna will give a general introduction to porcelain; this will be followed by a demonstration of porcelain casting and porcelain painting techniques, with participants making small artefacts. On Saturday 13 January 2024, it will be the turn of Milanese master artisan Anita Cerrato, who specialises in kintsugi on ceramics and porcelain. During the course, participants will get as close as possible to this ancient and complex Japanese technique, between restoration and decoration. On Saturday 10 February 2024, Studio Ceramico Giusti, based in Florence, will propose a unique experience to work with plastic porcelain in a bas-relief, which enthusiasts will be able to create: it is a small flowered tile, inspired by the flower carpets of Ai Weiwei, the well-known Chinese architect, designer and artist. Participants will then be able to collect the completed works from the museum a week after they have been made, to allow them to be fired and dried. A time to put your 'hands in the dough' and produce beauty. Don't miss it!
