On November 29th and 30th 2014, in the beautiful Villa Necchi Campiglio, Milan, the Cologni Foundation supports the 2014 edition of “FAI Manualmente”, dedicated to glasswork.
About twenty glass masters with their creations will be present in the market section opened to the public and set up in the covered tennis court near the villa.
During the event it will be possible to visit, inside the villa, the exhibition “Glass art in Italy today” (27 th November 2014-6th January 2015) important panoramic showcase of glass art work signed by the most famous glass masters and curated by the artist and gallerist Jean Blanchaert. During the two days, four events dedicated to the glass masters and to their works will take place. The curator Jean Blanchaert will moderate all the conferences.
On Saturday, November 29th:
- 11:30 a.m. - Altare. From the craft to the design. A history a thousand years long.
Conference of Giulia Musso, curator of Museo dell'Arte Vetraria Altarese and Mariateresa Chirico, art historian.
- 3:30 p.m. - To be a master and an artist interpreter.
Conference with Rosa Barovier Mentasti, glass art historian and Andrea Zilio, great glass master of Murano.
Domenica 30 novembre:
- 11:30 a.m. - Dialogue between Silvano Signoretto, one of the most important glass sculptors, and Alberto Cavalli, director of the Cologni Foundation for the Métiers d'Art.
- 3:30 p.m. - Dialogue between Martina Semenzato, president of Scuola del Vetro Abate Zanetti of Murano, and Giancarlo Signoretto, glass master and pedagogue who teaches to young generations.
