On October 17th 2005 at the Cattolica University of Milan, a round table on the subject of the artistic craft professions was held.

Debate focused on the presentation of “In a Masterly Fashion”, a study into the artistic craft professions in Lombardy and the Ticino Canton carried out by the "Arts and professions" research centre and published by Vita e Pensiero.

The passion and enthusiasm with which the artisans at the round table (moderated by Ferruccio de Bortoli, Editor in Chief of the leading financial newspaper “Il Sole 24 Ore”) explained their creative ventures captured the imagination of the public, affording an enthralling opportunity for reflecting on the importance of the artistic craft professions for our civilisation and culture.
It gave a clear message aimed above all at young people: now more than ever, embarking on a career in an artistic craft profession represents a courageous life choice but one that is rewarding and yields a great deal of satisfaction.
