Villa Necchi Campiglio hosted the new
edition of “Manualmente”, a cycle of events dedicated to the skill of the hands
sponsored by FAI and under the patronage of the City of Milan and of the Cologni
Foundation for the Métiers d’Art.
The 2013 edition, held on 30 November and 1 December 2013, showcased twenty carefully selected exhibitors from Italy and Great Britain. During the two-day exhibition and trade fair, the public was introduced to live demonstrations of lathe making and pottery decoration as well as interesting lectures and debates on ceramic art and its various contemporary interpretations.

The exhibition “Arte Ceramica oggi in Italia”, curated by artist and gallerist Jean Blanchaert, was inaugurated in conjunction with Manualmente-Ceramica. The exhibition (that continued until 6 Janaury 2014) showcased one hundred works by important artists, designers and masters ceramicists characterised by different styles, techniques and cultural inspirations: from Antonia Campi to Alessandro Mendini, from Bertozzi and Casoni to Franz Staehler and Antonella Ravagli, Paolo Anselmo, Bottega Gatti, Ugo La Pietra, James Alessi and many others. Part of the proceeds were donated to the FAI.
