"Il Bel Mestiere. Artigiani e maestranze nel teatro d’opera", published by the Cologni Foundation with Marsilio Editori in the “Mestieri d’Arte” book series, received the prestigious Gambrinus "Giuseppe Mazzotti" literary prize.
Named after Giuseppe Mazzotti, eminent man of culture, the award was instituted in 1983 in San Polo di Piave (Treviso).
The award is divided into six sections, split into two groups alternating every year. Each section is dedicated to Giuseppe Mazzotti’s personal and literary passions. In the 34th edition, the books were competing in the sections of "Mountaineering", "Traditional crafts" and "Ecology and Landscape".
"Il Bel Mestiere. Artigiani e maestranze nel teatro d’opera", dedicated to the professionals who work behind the scenes of the most important Italian opera theatres, won the award in the "Traditional crafts" section.
Authors Clizia Gurrado and Laila Pozzo received the award on 19 November 2016 at the Gambrinus Park in San Polo di Piave.
