The European Artistic Crafts Days (EACD) are an international event dedicated to the métiers d’art. Created in France on the initiative of INMA-Institut National des Métiers d’Art, every year the JEMA-Journées Européennes des Métiers d’Art are related to a specific theme. The aim is to attract a wide public to the fascinating world of artistic crafts through workshops, events, conferences and meetings. The theme for 2017 is "Forging Links": links that are not only cultural, social and economic, but that are also a bridge between generations, disciplines, regions and professions.
Through this theme, the partners of the initiative promote the diversity of crafts and of the connections that they generate. Whatever their nature (cultural, social, economic, etc.), the links created by artistic crafts represent the foundations of their own identity.
In Italy, the event relies on a network of partners in three regions: Lombardy, Tuscany and Veneto. Since 2012, the Cologni Foundation promotes and participates in the network with initiatives and dedicated events. The 2017 edition starts with an exclusive opening preview of "Doppia Firma. A dialogue between design and artisanal excellence”. The exhibition is held at the GAM-Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Milan, which remains open for the duration of the Salone del Mobile (4-9 April 2017).
