The second edition of the sacred music festival curated by the Associazione NOEMA under the aegis of the City of Milan presented five concerts at the Basilica di San Calimero in Milan.
Focused on sacred music, the programme spanned from Early Music (Gregorian and Ambrosian chant) to the first half of the 17th century, when Milan became a point of reference for hundreds of artists, musicians and music theorists.
The festival is named after the Christian Solemnity of the Ascension, celebrated six weeks after Easter. It consists of five weekly concerts introduced by articles written by young musicologists of the UniversitĂ Statale and of the Conservatorio di Milano, with profiles of the musical instruments played and their makers (in collaboration with the Civica Scuola di Liuteria di Milano) and connected with artistic crafts (in collaboration with the Cologni Foundation).
