Craftsmanship is one of the key elements to the success of Italy’s manufacturing industry. Italy’s future growth must therefore be based on the most authentic and effective assets of its economy: value creation that is founded on beauty.

The success of Italy’s manufacturing industry stands on its craftsmanship of excellence. Thus the growth of Italy’s GDP can and must be based on the most authentic and effective assets of its economy, which are founded on beauty, attention to detail and on a level of excellence that is transversal to every manufacturing sector.

The new volume in the Researches series was commissioned to Bocconi University by the Cologni Foundation with the support of Vacheron Constantin. It investigates Italy’s rich network of craft businesses, identifying strengths and weaknesses, manufacturing districts and their reserves of talent, innovation and creativity, in order to outline future prospects and development paths.
