QuasiAPERTO per la Casa degli Artisti :: Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte

The 89/A Association in collaboration with the FreeUnDo Association, WWF and the Cologni Foundation organizes, from May 23rd through 25th, an open weekend around the Casa degli Artisti of Corso Garibaldi 89/a in Milan. The inauguration/opening will be on Thursday, May 22nd at 6:30 p.m.

The purpose is to preserve, enhance and give back to the city the Casa degli Artisti (House of the Artists), which since 2007 is empty, with the organization of initiatives and a dialogue with the Institutions. Among the initiatives: a "marathon of violin making," in collaboration with the Civica Scuola di Liuteria and with the class of Maestro Lorenzo Rossi, dedicated to the non-stop construction of a violin for 24 hours a day, in three days.

All the apprentices of "Una Scuola, un Lavoro. Percorsi di Eccellenza” – the historic Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte training internship project now in its 13th edition – are now at work! All over Italy, the photographer Peter Elovich, through his original shots, is collecting visual testimonies of the young protagonists at work, eager to "steal with their eyes and hands" the craft from their mentors and masters in this six-month apprenticeship.
