Mestieri d'Arte & Design n. 7 :: Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte

The editorial collaboration between the Cologni Foundation and Swan Group continues, with the publication, this month, of the seventh issue of the magazine Mestieri d'Arte & Design. Attached to the magazine Monsieur, it has an English version as well: Arts & Crafts & Design. In this issue, among other articles: interviews to the designers Nigel Coates and Fabio Novembre, the Urushi master lacquer Kazumi Murose, a presentation of the European Artistic Crafts Days 2013 and of the Ricardo do Espirito Santo Silva Foundation, which preserves the traditional Portuguese crafts, the articles about Linley's sophisticated furniture, Barovier & Toso glass and much more.

“Una Scuola, un Lavoro”: young apprentices at work!

All the apprentices of "Una Scuola, un Lavoro. Percorsi di Eccellenza” – the historic Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte training internship project now in its 13th edition – are now at work! All over Italy, the photographer Peter Elovich, through his original shots, is collecting visual testimonies of the young protagonists at work, eager to "steal with their eyes and hands" the craft from their mentors and masters in this six-month apprenticeship.

In Triennale Milano, in the evening of Wednesday 17th January 2024, in the presence of the authors Anty Pansera and Mariateresa Chirico, was presented “Athena. Le presenze femminili delle Biennali/Triennali di Monza/Milano. 1923–1940”: the volume, in bookstores starting 31th January, also consists of an iconographic apparatus that is the result of very interesting archival research.
